Cradle will help Bursa Malaysia gain market intelligence on the local startup ecosystem, aiding it in identifying potential candidates for listing at an early stage.
Bursa Malaysia has entered into a partnership with Cradle, an early-stage fund operating under the Ministry of Finance, to boost local listings.
Founded in 2003, Cradle has backed over 1,000 Malaysian tech firms and contributed over MYR 3.4 billion (USD 727 million) to the country’s economy.
Under the partnership, Cradle will help Bursa Malaysia gain market intelligence on the local startup ecosystem, aiding it in identifying potential candidates for listing at an early stage.
Bursa Malaysia will analyse the data shared by Cradle and collaborate with the fund in organising programmes to improve access to funding.
Additionally, Bursa Malaysia will support Cradle in terms of knowledge sharing and help startups gain a better understanding of how the equity market can contribute to their growth.
“Through this collaboration, we hope to empower startups to develop their comprehensive strategies, ultimately paving the way for a successful listing on the exchange while bridging critical funding gaps within the ecosystem,” said Norman Matthieu Vanhaecke, Cradle’s acting CEO.
“By strategically aligning resources, expertise and collaboration, we create an enabling environment where startups can thrive, revolutionise industries and drive economic growth.”
The MoC between Bursa Malaysia and Cradle Minister was witnessed on Thursday (7 September) by Science, Technology and Innovation Chang Lih Kang.
The collaboration is part of the MOSTI (Ministry Science, Technology and Innovation) Fund Funnel programme, an initiative designed to streamline funding options and offer comprehensive support to startups throughout their funding journey.
